7 Signs Your Website Needs a Redesign

By

A website does not need replacing every year, but there comes a point where an old site quietly costs you more than a new one would. Here are seven signs it is time for a redesign.

1. It looks dated

First impressions count. If your site looks like it belongs to another decade, visitors quietly assume your business is behind the times too.

2. It is slow

People leave slow sites within seconds. If your pages take more than a few seconds to load, you are losing visitors before they see anything.

3. It is awkward on a phone

Most of your visitors are on mobile. If your site is fiddly to use on a phone, that is most of your audience having a poor experience.

4. You cannot update it yourself

If every small change needs a developer, your site is working against you. A modern build lets your team make everyday edits easily.

5. It does not bring in enquiries

A website should generate calls, enquiries or sales. If it is not, the design, content or structure is likely getting in the way.

6. It is hard to find on Google

If you are invisible in search, an older site with weak foundations is often the cause. A redesign is a chance to fix the technical basics.

7. It no longer reflects your business

If you have grown or changed direction and your site has not kept up, it is sending the wrong message to the people you most want to reach.

Recognise a few of these? A thoughtful redesign, with design and SEO considered together as the Defyn family does, can turn your site around. See our recent work on our work page, then start a project or call 02 9834 4119.
